The Hesston Child Care Center will host their annual Pig Roast on Saturday, April 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Whitestone Mennonite Church.
The annual event is one of the largest fundraisers for the Center.
Director Judy Friesen said funds from this year’s event will be allocated to equipment and scholarships.
“We want to make some improvements on our natural playground and replace some of our tricycles. In addition we want to add to our Scholarship Fund, that enables us to provide child care at a lower rate for families that want a quality program for their children, but do not have the means to pay the full amount. Last year we were able to help 25 different families,” she said.
To make the needed improvements and assist families with child care costs, Friesen said the Center is optimistic about this year’s fundraising.
“Our goal is $5,000, which includes donations from businesses ahead of the dinner,” she said.
Friesen said the center reaches its goal not only due to the generosity of Hesston community members and businesses, but with the help of several volunteers.
