Kansas cyclists will have a safer time traveling Harvey County’s paved roads after a group of bicylicts partnered with the County to install bicycle safety signs on all of Harvey County’s major paved roads.
County Administrator John Waltner said the County was very pleased to partner with the ReNewton Bicycling Initiative.
“They wanted to know if the County would be willing to participate with them to put signs up because anyone who has biked in Harvey County knows that, frequently, motorists don’t give proper room. They wanted to know if they brought in sign designs if the County would be willing to help fund t hem and put up signs. We told them, “Sure,” said Waltner.
For ReNewton Bicycling Initiave cyclist Jerry Smith, safety on the road and motorists being aware of giving cyclists proper room is a very personal cause.
