Special to the Record
In honor of the 25th-anniversary of the Emma Creek Classic 5K in 2014, the Emma Creek 5K committee is sponsoring a contest to come up with a special 25th-anniversary logo for the 2014 race.
The 25th-anniversary of the women-only 5K will be celebrated at the 2014 race on Saturday, April 26.
The logo competition is open to anyone of any age.
The winner will receive $50 and have their name announced at the awards ceremony following the race.
“We thought this was a great opportunity to get the community – both the community of Hesston and the Emma Creek community - involved in the 25th anniversary of the 5K,” said John Earl, director of Hesston Recreation & Community Education, which sponsors the race. “We hope we have a lot of people use their creativity and try to win the $50.”
The logo must be on a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 white paper and be black & white. It can be computer-generated or hand-drawn. A likeness of the image will be used - not an exact representation.
The words “2014 Emma Creek Classic” “Women’s 5K Walk/Run” and “25th” need to appear somewhere in the logo.
Entries must include the artist’s name, age, email address and cell phone number. Entries will not be returned.
Images must be original and not taken from the Internet to avoid copyright issues. Entries become the property of Hesston Recreation & Community Education.
Entries are due Aug. 31, 2013. The winner will be notified by email or phone.
Send your logo to Christine.email@example.com or mail to Hesston Recreation at 303 Park Road, Hesston, KS 67062.
