During the Monday, June 10 City Council meeting, the Council was presented with information regarding an inspection of the Country Villages mobile home park.
Mayor Dave Kauffman proposed council to look into purchasing part of the property.
“I would really encourage council to look into buying this. It sets the wheels in motion. They had six homes that were vacant. If we look at buying half, the community sees progress. Tear out some of the streets and start making it a greener place. It doesn’t kick out where they are. It gives owners a little money to put back into. Looking at $150,000 that’s a reasonable price.” he said.
Carder presented the findings of the inspection to Council and said when owner Bob Tonge learned of many of the violations to City ordinances, action was taken to clean p the park.
