Hesston Chamber Director Carlota Ponds will be resigning from the Chamber beginning April 1.
Ponds, who has been Chamber Director since 2011, will be joining Hesston College. Ponds announced her departure in a release sent to business leaders and Chamber members on Monday, March 18.
“It’s easy to move forward…but it’s still hard to leave. It is my pleasure to announce that, effective April 1, I have accepted a new position at Hesston College as Administrative Assistant for Alumni/Church Relations and Communications. I am excited for the opportunity to grow and stretch in new directions, but I will definitely miss the work I’ve come to love so much with the Hesston Area Chamber.
“The good news is I’ll continue to be a part of this wonderful and vibrant community. As one vacancy is filled, another opens. A classified ad appears in this edition of The Hesston Record. If you know someone who would be a good candidate for the position of Hesston Area Chamber Director, please encourage her/him to apply. This is especially true if that person is you. The position will remain open until filled.
“Many people have helped me in my just-over two-year tenure with the Chamber. Your support has been invaluable. Thank you all for allowing me to serve and to continue serving from a different venue,” said Ponds.
During her tenure as Chamber Director, Ponds said her goal was to help Hesston residents appreciate their community in new ways.
