In Their Own Words: Candidates Give Their Take On Local Issues

Posted 8/2/2018

On Aug 7, Harvey County Republicans will head to the polls to determine who will be representing the 74th District in the Kansas House of Representatives. Without a Democratic candidate filing for the seat, the primary election will effectively determine who will represent the district.

Two candidates, Stephen Owens and Don Schroeder, both of Hesston, will be on the Republican ballot.

Hesston residents’ polling location is located at Kingdom Life Church, at the corner of Ridge Road and Hickory Street.

Polls will open at 7 a.m. And close at 7 p.m.

Residents may also cast advanced voting ballots at the Harvey County Community Room during business hours through noon on Monday, Aug. 6.

“I saw this in Guatemala and I had my eye on it. It was just setting in the weeds. I traded my old van and a toolbox for this plane,” said Weaver.
