The Hesston United Methodist Women are in their 30th year of raising money for area charities by selling buckets of frozen fruit.

Becky Herron, who has been leading the effort for 20 years, said a member of her group knew someone who had good results from selling Bithell Farms fruit.

“We felt like we could do better with our mission of giving if we had a project,” she said. “And we didn’t want to do a bake sale, plain and simple.”

The path the group took ironically has led to numerous people enjoying a delicious dessert.
